Pizza & PA MegPizza & Public Affairs

November 5 | 12 p.m.-1 p.m. | Holliday Forum, Journalism Bldg

Chief Communications Officer for the Louisiana State University System Meg Casper Sunstrom joins us for Pizza & Public Affairs!

Our last Pizza & Public Affairs gathering of the semester is sponsored by Teach for America - Greater Baton Rouge.

Held monthly during each semester, the Pizza & Public Affairs series invites students, faculty, and staff from across campus to enjoy free pizza and engage in meaningful conversations with guest speakers, whether a public official, civic leader, public affairs practitioner, or polarization expert. Speakers will share with students how they have achieved successful policy or program outcomes by building coalitions and communicating in a way that bridges division.

This series is part of the Common Ground Project.

Civic Sips: Civic Speed Dating

November 12 | 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. | Old State Capitol

The LSU Reilly Center and PAR invite you to Civic Speed Dating, a special edition of Civic Sips where participants will get the chance to chat face-to-face with state and local leaders. Food and drinks are on us!

Civic Sips is a series designed to bring people together in a relaxed setting to share a meaningful conversation about how we can build a better civic future. And what better way to do that than an evening of speed dating with the people who help shape your community?

Here's how it works:

Leaders will rotate from table to table, so each group gets a chance to ask questions and share ideas. This is meant to be a casual conversation where you have the opportunity to talk with leaders as if they were your neighbors. These conversations are how we can highlight our shared values and build common ground.

Registration is required! Seating is limited so that all participants have time to speak with local leaders. If your plans change, please cancel your registration or let us know.
